Born and raised in Rockwell, North Carolina, Dr. Raven Collins is a proud native of this beautiful state and has spent much her time serving the Wilmington area.
She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and minors in both Chemistry and Community Health. She is a proud Seahawk and spent her college years cheering at basketball games as a member of the cheerleading team.
She further obtained her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at East Carolina University and remained in Greenville, NC to complete a one-year residency at Bernstein Dental Services, a local community health clinic.
She values serving the underserved and spent much of her time at UNCW volunteering at St. Mary’s community dental clinic in downtown Wilmington. Volunteering through North Carolina Missions of Mercy since 2012, she has aided in providing free dental care to many North Carolina citizens who would otherwise lack access to it. She understands that dental care can provide a financial burden and is focused on working together with patients to create a comprehensive dental plan to address an individual’s needs and wants in a manageable and individualized way.
In her free time, Dr. Collins enjoys attempting to surf with her husband, Shawn, and taking their dog, Lilly, on sunset walks on the beach. Her favorite pastime is reading a good book with her toes in the sand. When she can convince her husband to oblige, she enjoys watching romantic comedies and her guilty pleasure, The Bachelor.
Dr. Collins has been and remains active in many professional societies and service organizations including the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the North Carolina Dental Society.”
