After I graduated from High Point Central High School, I went to Guilford Technical Community College to become a Dental Hygienist. I received an A.A.S degree in Dental Hygiene from GTCC, and furthered my dental hygiene education at UNC. After graduating from UNC with a BS in Dental Auxiliary Teacher Education, I taught Dental Hygiene for 3 ½ years in the School of Dentistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. While I taught Dental Hygiene, I worked part-time in the evenings as a dental hygienist for a general dentist and also a periodontist. While I was at UMKC, I decided to go to dental school. After I graduated from dental school, I moved back to NC, and one year later I was accepted in the Orthodontic Residency program at the University of Louisville’s School of Dentistry. While I worked in High Point and Lexington for a total of 28 ½ years, I was blessed to become a mother of a son and daughter. Mary and Frazier are pursuing careers in Medicine
