Dr. Kate Morey Stanton grew up in southeastern Idaho. After high school, her love of science and travel carried her to the University of Dallas in Irving, TX and Rome, Italy, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in chemistry and biochemistry with honors.
During college, Dr. Stanton discovered that she loved teeth! She returned to Idaho and worked as a dental assistant before pursuing her dental education at the UNC School of Dentistry, in Chapel Hill. As a student she volunteered regularly in Mission of Mercy dental clinics around the state. In the process, she discovered that she also loved North Carolina and knew that this is where she wanted to make her home. Her passion for service led Dr. Stanton into public health dentistry, treating the underserved in rural western North Carolina as a member of the National Health Service Corps. During this time she was also fortunate to work with dental students and dental assisting students as a faculty member.
Dr. Stanton knows that every patient is unique, so each individual’s expectations are unique as well. She believes in working together with patients to achieve their goals in a comfortable, friendly, and professional environment. She has completed training in the Baby Oral Health Program at UNC and is comfortable seeing patients of all ages and abilities. She loves the Riccobene Associates team, because she has the opportunity to treat kids, parents, and grandparents!
She is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Public Health Association, Forsyth County Dental Society, and the Blue Ridge Dental Society. She knows that dentistry is constantly evolving and is committed to seeking lifelong education.
When Dr. Stanton is out of the office, she can often be found with her husband, Howard, enjoying the Winston-Salem Symphony, visiting local museums, or just reading at home with their two cats, Jeeves and Wooster. She especially loves the opportunity to lace up her skates each winter at the W-S Fairgrounds Ice Rink!
