Born and raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina has always been a home for Dr. Kaaenaat Mustafa. She received her B.S. in Business Administration – Finance with a minor in Biological Sciences from North Carolina State University. Following undergrad, she attended East Carolina University for her Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree.
Dr. Mustafa became passionate about pursuing a dental career after returning home from a family trip to India. While there, she noticed the widespread lack of oral hygiene amongst the population. After returning to North Carolina, she began volunteering at Missions of Mercy clinics, where she noticed the same disparity was occurring in her own backyard. Working alongside doctors, Dr. Mustafa was able to see the profound impact that one can make by properly educating patients in oral hygiene and increasing patients’ self-esteem.
Following dental school, Dr. Mustafa received advanced training through completion of a general practice residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center in Bronx, New York. During this time, she gained proficiency in oral surgery, root canal therapy, extractions, implant restorations, crowns and bridges, and general sedation.
In her free time, Dr. Mustafa enjoys traveling, working out, trying new foods, and spending time with family. She is passionate about oral health education and volunteering in the community through Missions of Mercy Clinics, Give Kids a Smile program, and a local Dental Bus. She is excited to meet you and provide you with a stress-free, positive dental experience!
