Dr. Jorgenson was born in the Ukraine and moved to the U.S. at an early age. She has called North Carolina her home since 1996. For as long as she can remember, she has wanted to work in the medical field and was preparing to apply to medical school when her dentist casually commented that she might make a great dentist. Those few words changed the course of her life.
Once she investigated dentistry and realized that it would allow her to develop closer relationships with her patients, it was clear that was the profession she would to pursue. She graduated summa cum laude from Methodist University with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, cell biology, and chemistry with a minor in mathematics, and she completed her studies at UNC Dental School in Chapel Hill in 2007. She completed her general practice residency at UNC Hospitals in 2008.
Dr. Jorgenson loves developing long-term relationships with her patients and collaborating with them to achieve a healthy outcome. She also enjoys learning about new developments in dentistry and works to increase her knowledge and skills by taking numerous continuing-education courses.
When she has free time, Dr. Jorgenson plays the piano, reads, gardens, and travels as much as possible.
