Dr. Sherrill grew up in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The first in her family to attend college, she proudly studied at North Carolina State University where she graduated with honors and a B.S. in Biochemistry. After, she attended the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry, where she obtained her dental assistant certification. After working as a dental assistant in Cary for a few years, Dr. Sherrill pursued her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania, and completed an Orthodontics externship at Einstein Medical Center. Dr. Sherrill began practicing general dentistry almost ten years ago in Rhode Island before she moved back to NC.
Dr. Sherrill distinctly remembers the overwhelming feeling of joy she felt when she had her braces taken off, which is what sparked her initial interest in dentistry as a profession. Because of that life-changing experience, she is now deeply passionate about helping her patients experience the same feeling.
When Dr. Sherrill is not in the office, she loves spending time with her husband, Stephen, and their beautiful daughter, Amina Elaine. As a family, they enjoy outdoor activities paired with the occasional indoor pizza and movie nights. She is also active in sports — especially softball, flag football, and sand volleyball. While in New England, she was able to enjoy numerous outdoor adventures such as snow skiing, skydiving, white water rafting, and scuba diving.
Dr. Sherrill believes it is essential to have a dentist you can trust that strives to give patients honest dental recommendations and quality care. “You are never fully dressed without a smile,” is her motto and loves it when her patients leave the office laughing or smiling. That’s when she knows she’s done something right.
