Meet The Doctors
Dr. Riccobene
Dr. Michael Riccobene was born in Brooklyn, New York to Italian Immigrants. At a young age his family moved to New Jersey where he spent his childhood.
In 1996, he graduated from New York University’s College of Dentistry. While at NYU, he was student body President and graduated in the top five percent of his class. Shortly after graduation he moved to North Carolina where he completed two years of residency at UNC –Chapel Hill in Oral Medicine. During his residency he practiced advanced anesthesia, endodontic’s, oral and implant surgery. In his second year he served as Chief Resident.
In 2000, he opened his first practice in Selma, NC and is constantly expanding his wealth of offices. Dr. Riccobene strongly believes in extraordinary customer service, quality care and advanced technology. His entire business centers around these key elements.
Dr. Riccobene is Lumineer Certified and is an Invisalign Premiere Provider. He has completed extensive training in oral and IV sedation as well as Full Mouth Rehabilitation. As always, keeping one step ahead of the industry, he became certified in Botox Administration.
He currently serves as the Director of Dental Services for Head Start of Johnston County and has served on the Partnership for Children’s Board of Directors.
When Dr. Riccobene is not practicing Dentistry he enjoys skydiving, tae kwon do and spending time with his four children.
Dr. Anna Abernethy
In 2001, Dr. Abernethy graduated from Meridith College Magna Cum Laude with a BS in biology and a minor in chemical physics. While at Meredith, she had the opportunity to attend the university of Sydney, Australia during a study abroad program. She graduated from UNC Dental School in 2005. While at UNC, she was the co-leader of Give Kids a Smile Day, coordinator of the UNC Head Start Program, and the team captain of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
She is affiliated with the American Dental Association, American Association of Women Dentists, American Association of General Dentists, and the Wake County Dental Society.
Dr. Abernethy is certified in both Invisalign and Lumineers, and will complete her certification for Botox administration in early 2008. She has lived in Raleigh for the past 10 years, and she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Nora Barber
Dr. Barber is a graduate of UNC School of Dentistry and has been practicing with Riccobene Associates since spring 2007. She is a Cum Laude graduate of Hofstra University in New York, where she received a B.A. Degree in Biology and was a member of the Women’s Basketball team. Dr. Barber has two young children, James and Claire, and currently lives in Durham with her family. She is a member of the American Dental Association and is an active member of the American Diabetes Association where she participates and raises funds for the ADA’s “Step Out to Fight Diabetes” walk.
Dr. Barber loves spending time with her family, playing basketball, and participating in outdoor activities.
Dr. Brian McNeely
Dr. McNeely was born in China Grove, NC, a small town he is proud to call home. He graduated East Carolina University ,magna cum laude, with a degree in chemistry. He then completed his dental training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After obtaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree, he moved to Fayetteville, NC where he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Dr. McNeely’s vision is to provide quality, compassionate dental care for the entire family. His philosophy is built on giving his patients the very best treatment in a caring and gentle environment.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, and Tri-County Dental Society of Wilmington. Away from the office, Dr. McNeely enjoys golf, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Tracy Goldstein
Dr. Tracy Goldstein is a native of New York who relocated to North Carolina in April of 2005. He has been practicing dentistry for 17 years, since graduating from the prestigious Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1990. Prior to that, he received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1985. Dr. Goldstein is an active member of the Wake County Dental Association.
His clinical skills and sense of humor — accompanied by his dedication to a high standard of patient care — has earned Dr. Goldstein a loyal patient following. Dr. Goldstein resides in Raleigh with his wife Joan and their two children, Jennifer and Matthew.
Dr. Anna Sipe
Dr. Sipe was born and raised in Lewisville, NC and spent a time on Lake Norman during the summers. She graduated summa cum laude with degrees in Spanish and Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She attended Dental School at UNC and graduated with Honors. While in school she traveled with classmates to Mexico to provide dental care to orphans and coordinated volunteers for a free community dental clinic. After graduating, Dr. Sipe moved to Virginia to complete a one year General Practice Residency at the VA in Hampton where she gained experience working with medically compromised patients. She is happy to be back in her home state again.
Dr. Sipe is a member of the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Association of Women Dentists. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and traveling.
Dr. Angelina Marcil
Dr. Angelina Marcil was born in Miles City, Montana and spent her adolescent years in North Dakota and Canada. Dr. Marcil relocated to the Triangle area in 2001 to finish her undergraduate degree at North Carolina State University. She now affectionately refers to the Triangle as her home.
She attended and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007 with a DDS degree. There Dr. Marcil was CE chair, and Vice President with Association of Women Dentists and continues to be involved in organized dentistry as she is the current 5th district chair of the Academy of General Dentistry of North Carolina. Angelina is also a member of the ADA, NCDS, AAWD and is pursuing a fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Marcil completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in 2008 from the Fayetteville, NC VA hospital were she received training in surgical techniques and implant placement. She is also certified in Lumineers and is currently working toward a certification in Invisalign and dental sedation techniques.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Marcil enjoys watching and playing any sport, cooking and spending time with her friends and family.
Dr. Paula Stapleton
Dr. Stapleton is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she completed her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2007. Before attending dental school she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Methodist college in Fayetteville, NC. where she obtained her Bachelors of Science majoring in biology and minoring in chemistry.
Dr. Stapleton is dedicated to maintaining a high level of current knowledge and skill in the ever-changing field of dentistry. Dr. Stapleton is Lumineer Certified and an Invisalign provider and has also completed the DOCS sedation course. She has also achieved the NC permit for performing moderate conscious sedation in dentistry. She is actively involved in local, state, and regional societies including the American Dental Association, NC Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry and the American Association of Women Dentist.
Dr. Stapleton’s philosophy is that a healthy mouth and a beautiful smile can be achieved through a partnership between our patient’s and our dental team. She is dedicated to providing the highest quality dental care and helping people maintain their oral health for a lifetime.
Outside of dentistry some of Dr Stapleton’s hobbies include, running, biking and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. DeStefano
Dr. DeStefano graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2004. He attended a general practice residency at The Ohio State University Medical Center where he received additional training in all aspects of dentistry. Dr. DeStefano relocated to the Raleigh area in 2007 and is excited to provided the very best dental care to his patients.
He stays current with the latest procedures and techniques via continuing education seminars. He is an active member of the American Dental Association and North Carolina Dental Society.
Outside of Dentistry, Dr. DeStefano enjoys playing sports, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. John Tomasheski
Dr. John Tomasheski was born and raised in Somerdale, New Jersey, located approximately 20 minutes from Philadelphia. He graduated Virginia Wesleyan College, summa cum laude, with a B.A. degree in Biology. He then attended Dental School at the University of North Carolina and graduated with honors.
After graduation, Dr. Tomasheski completed a one year General Practice Residency at UNC Hospitals working primarily on medically compromised patients. He then moved to Philadelphia and worked at a private practice dental office. Missing the southern lifestyle, Dr. Tomasheski moved back to North Carolina and now resides in Cary.
Dr. Tomasheski enjoys working with all aspects of general dentistry. His philosophy of care centers around patient education and quality of care. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Tomasheski enjoys tennis, watching sports, traveling, and spending time with his wife Kim, family, and friends.
Dr. Sadaf Alam
Dr. Sadaf Alam is a graduate of the UNC School of Dentistry and has been in the field of dentistry for over 10 years.
Dr. Alam is a current member of the American Dental Society and the North Carolina Dental Society. She is certified to place lumineers and also practices sedation dentistry among all other aspects of general dental procedures. Dr. Alam keeps abreast of the latest in dentistry by attending numerous continuing education courses annually.
Dr. Alam strongly believes in treating all her patients as she would want to be treated herself, in a gentle and comfortable environment.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Alam enjoys spending time with her family and friends, exotic vacations and reading.
